Dear Parishioners of St. Stephens Parish- USA,
I pray that this letter finds you doing well. We thank the Lord for all the good things He has provided to you and feel sorry for all the dear ones lost. This letter is intended to express my gratitude towards your generous act of prayers and paying for my seminary tuition plus other scholastic materials for both philosophical and theological studies.
I cannot in its entirely convey how appreciative I am that you selected me among the needy kids and you decided to invest in my education and calling when I expressed my inner desire to serve the Lord as a Roman Catholic Priest. Your investment can not be taken for granted. I will take large strides everyday to serve the Lord with all my heart and try every day to"...bear fruits that will last..." John 15:16. I am so grateful to you all for being my support ever since I was a child in formation. As you knew that I was going through financial hardships with my family, we lost a dad when I was little; which made our mom unable to pay for our school fees but your help through Fr. White and Ms.Diane came like a ray of hope in the darkness in my life and the entire family.
Throughout my years of formation to priesthood, I promised myself that when a day comes and I make it to priesthood, I will be lifting all the parishioners of good heart that sacrificed a lot for my studies during masses. I promise you my constant prayers. Much love dear Parishioners for loving me. Thank you again for the support you sent to me through Ms. Diane towards my ordination celebrations this year on 6th of August.
Shortly after the ordination, I was appointed at Kaliiro Parish as the assistant priest, in charge of schools to promote education and morals, and as Father in charge of the students’ associations and the youth. The parish is made up of 20 outstations with only one (1) secondary school and twelve (12) diocesan primary schools which I serve as their chaplain. We extend catechesis, masses, retreats, recollections, youth conferences, career guidance, weekly penance, counselling, inspection and supervision roles among others. Am so happy and excited to work among the young and making visits to the elderly especially on the weekends for their wonderful sharing with me and cooperation. This has kept me strong and enthusiastic to continually reach out to them.
I assure you of my constant prayers. God bless you all!
Your son,
Fr. Emmanuel Kayongo.
